About Hill of the Buddha - Hokkaido
At the Hill of the Buddha in Sapporo, architecture and spirituality merge into a sanctuary of stillness. Designed by Tadao Ando, the monumental stone Buddha is encircled by a ring of earth and sky, creating a meditative space where light becomes part of the sculpture itself.
This work captures the moment with an immersive calm, the clean composition and gentle blue tones soften the scale of the structure, inviting viewers into a state of quiet reflection. The photograph transforms a site of architectural grandeur into an intimate vision of peace and transcendence.
About the Icon series
